Where Is The Live-Action Venture Brothers Movie?

by

With all of the animated television shows (cartoons) that have been adapted into live-action films (Transformers, G.I. Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, etc.), why has no one yet made a live-action Venture Brothers film? I mean, c’mon! One of the greatest shows Adult Swim has ever aired and no one is making it into live-action yet?! Ridiculous!

In order to help this process along and maybe strike up some inspiration, I have compiled a possible cast list for what may one day become the live-action Venture Brothers movie:

Jim Rash as Dr. Rusty Venture

Look at the guy. He’s the spitting image of Rusty, just without the goatee. We already know he can do comedy from his work on Community, playing the hilarious Dean Pelton. And I don’t think he’ll have any problem acting cynical and narcissistic. Yeah, I think he can handle it. So just slap on a fake, red goatee, throw him into a speed suit, and we’re good to go.

Patrick Warburton as Brock Samson

This is pretty much a given. No one but Patrick Warburton should play this part. No one. He’s what makes Brock…Brock. And I swear if this film ever gets made and they cast Channing Tatum or The Rock in this part, I will burn them all. Give him a blond mullet wig and let him work his magic.

Bill Hader as The Monarch

This man is a comic genius. Just watch him on SNL and you’ll see that he can handle the part of The Monarch. Not to mention, he has the facial structure and body build that an actor would need to look like The Monarch.

Mila Kunis as Dr. Girlfriend/Dr. Mrs. The Monarch

She’s got the look and she can do comedy but can she do the deep, manly voice? That is the real question. But honestly, in that costume, do you think anyone is really gonna care what her voice sounds like?

Jason Fleming as Doctor Orpheus

I don’t know what made me think of Jason Fleming as Orpheus but I think it may be a solid idea. The man is an excellent character actor. He was Dr. Jekyll in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Azazel in X-Men: First Class, and he played both Calibos AND Acrisius in Clash of the Titans. So he’s not stranger to a little costume and make-up work.

Second choice: Hank Azaria

Daryl Sabara as Dean Venture/Cameron Bright as Hank Venture

I have no solid reason why these two should play these parts other than they look the parts. They’re both good actors and I think they would do fantastic jobs playing Dean and Hank. So let’s just leave it at that.

I know there are a lot more characters in the series but I thought for this article I would just stick to the basics. What are your thoughts? Are these good suggestions? And what suggestions might you have for these characters or any of the others?

One Comment

  1. This is probably the best question anyone has asked today. Don’t forget that Jim Rash was the evil jester guy in Sky High.
