Bill Nye’s on YouTube Talking About Space!

by

This is really a case of it doing what it says on the tin.

Bill Nye “The Science Guy” has been doing a series of videos for The Planetary Society (which totally sounds like some galactic alliance of superheroes).

This has nothing to do with the videos except that it involves Bill Nye and is neat. Image courtesy of TravisTheGeek.

Mental note: Start writing the adventures of the Planetary Society – I didn’t capitalize the “The”, so it’s totally different. No copyright infringement here.

So now, when you just need to step away from your job for 15 minutes, you can take a trip not just down Nostalgia Avenue (Runs parallel to Memory Lane, but there’s much less traffic), but to the outer reaches of the universe.

In other news: Seriously, Internet, you let this get by without telling me? This is like the time I had to find out that peanut butter cake was a thing from a book. I depend on you for these things, Internet.

There’s around 45 videos, and via the one search I conducted on the channel for “Bill Nye” it looks like the Science Guy is in 25 of them. Most are under 5 minutes, and thus totally painless. (I don’t know about you, but even when I’m watching something I enjoy on YouTube, if I see it’s like 6 minutes long, I just abandon it before it starts. I’m pretty sure that’s a negative reflection on me. Note to editor: Redact that bit about my nonexistent attention span where YouTube videos are concerned.)

Growing up, public television was where it was at! It brought us not only Antiques Roadshow (still a staple in “Stuff I Love to Watch but Never Know When It’s On” programming), but Bill Nye the Science Guy and it’s uber ‘90s opening.

So, relive those days when you’d proudly pronounce at the dinner table that today on television you’d learned that fiber is the plumber who cleans out your pipes. Get a little knowledge and check out some entertaining videos.
